The Mystery of Blog Birth

Photo: Charles Pfeil

Last year (2006) I was busy giving birth--to blogs. In the space of several months beginning in May through August, I gave birth to a litter of blogs. Two of these blogs were twins, and their birthday of July 24 is just around the corner so I gave a gander today to their astrology charts to check-in on them.

Both blogs were born within minutes of each other.
Maui Skies came first followed by Way Khool Sites. And beautiful babies they are...born with Libra rising and Pisces North Node on ALMOST a New Moon in Leo. You see, I didn't check my local time when I was birthing them (hey, I was busy!), and the Moon was still in the late degrees of Cancer, so it wasn't quite a New Moon, but a BALSAMIC MOON although at the time I thought it was a New Moon.

Balsamic Moons are the closing of the cycle started on the New Moon, and people (and blogs too) often have a mission when born during this phase. The energy is greater than oneself, and the mission must be carried out.

What are their missions?

1. Way Khool Sites is a Pay-It-Forward blog which features really cool blogs and websites. The writing is minimal. It's primarily a service blog to promote others.
I don't know personally most of the blogs or sites owners I feature, although I do know some. It's Cancer Moon is nurturing others.

2. Maui Skies is a photoblog with photos of the skies of Maui, Hawaii, and it's mission is to inspire and uplift others by showcasing the skies of Maui. If you allow for large orbs, there is a grand trine between Jupiter, Uranus, and Venus, and this trine is evident in the blog's photos.

Both are faring pretty much the same with links, but Way Khool is a bit ahead according to socialmeter -- and not doing too bad for quick and easy blogs with a mission!

Oh, and transiting retrograde Mercury is conjunct their Venus, so I guess it was time for me to write about them and give them some love!

"I really struggle with that feeling of helplessness. That's why I really try to get my blogs, and even myself, to point to the positive and look at all the inspiring things that are happening." Daryl Hannah

Who Makes This Stuff Up Anyway?

Photo: Charles Pfeil

My partner's having a bad day. The fire on the Pali on Maui caused the road to be closed, and to get back to our side of the island, he had to go all the way around the back way to return. This road is a narrow road with steep cliffs and only one lane in many places.

Of course, he wasn't the only one trying to get back to this side of the island, so the roads were jammed and more perilous than ever. He had gone over to that side for a business meeting, a drive he rarely makes. Between the business meeting and the driving, he is super stressed.

Checking out his astrology chart to see whussup with him, I see that Mars is transiting and conjunct his natal Moon in his fourth house which just about sums it up.

Then I thought I'll check up on myself, something I don't do everyday. That's when the world went all Matrix-y on me!

I see that the transiting Sun is conjunct my Mars in my fourth house! Both our luminaries (the Sun and Moon) are dealing with Martian energy today. Of the two of us, I'm glad to be me because I'm safe at home.
But seriously, how does the Matrix arrange these amazing astrological set-ups?

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

I've been taking some time away from blogging lately and enjoying the sum-sum-summertime!

My blessings are many, and one of the biggest ones it the freedom to take time off. There are so many rewards from spending time in Nature....alone. My cup is filled to overflowing with the blessings from the elements.

On the lower left sidebar is the group who participates in the Blog Your Blessings Sunday begun by Blue Panther. Please take some time and read their blessings as well.

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

Blessings lists appear to some folks as 'bragging' if one doesn't know the difference, and thus, I've been reluctant to list the many weekly blessings which happen to my family, my friends, and me.

However, this week I'm going to list my blessings and live dangerously--if some want to call it bragging, let them!

I'm blessed with my family's (and mine) good health, sense of humor, lifestyle, and spirituality.

I'm blessed to have a beautiful private, large, outdoor deck full of beautiful flowers and plants and an ever-ready jacuzzi--my Secret Garden!

I'm blessed to live in Maui, Hawaii close to gorgeous beaches and Nature.

I'm blessed to have a beautiful, spacious home.

I'm blessed to have a partner who is alive (read the last post!), healthy, and happy.

I'm blessed to have a beautiful daughter who is a Bright Light to many.

I'm blessed to be aware of dryads, angels, and faeries and others from the Other Side.

I'm blessed to marry people, counsel others, and have the time to write and create art.

I'm blessed with curiosity, a playful spirit, friends, and currently a large surplus of mangoes from our mango tree to share with others!

That's enough of a brag-blessings list for this week!

Karmic Surprise

Photo: terragalleria

Last Sunday my partner had a weird thing happen to him. As he was driving down the highway, an errant golf ball from a golf course on the right side of the road hit the front window of his car as he was driving. The golf ball hit with such force that it shattered his front window splashing glass inside. He was so shocked by this sudden event that he swerved and just barely missed a truck parked along the highway, and he counted his blessings that no serious damage had been done or no one injured. That same day he lost a lucrative business account.

The day of the accident had the aspect of Sun square Uranus which would suggest sudden, explosive accidents. And yet, there were lots of other people who didn't have a golf ball hit their car window! So I looked at his astro chart to see why him!

The Nodes are often considered karmic indicators. I've read the book by the well-known astrologer, Martin Schulman, who wrote the book, "The Moon's Nodes--Astrology's Link to Reincarnational Karma" which reveals how the Moon's nodes and karma work together.

On the day of the accident the transiting North Node was applying to my partner's Venus within a one degree orb (the deductible!), and transiting Saturn was applying to his North Node by two degrees. My patner feels this accident was not just an accident, but karmic--and he's been atoning ever since.

Happy New Moon in Gemini

Photo: Charles Pfeil

With Mercury the ruler of Gemini turning retrograde tomorrow and the highly aspected Gemini New Moon, it looks as if we are all in for hectic times. Change is in the air and so thick it feels like you could put a hole through it.

It's a good practice to set intentions on New Moons and write them down--monthly seed planting time! With the trine of the Sun to Neptune, you might as well let your fantasies run wild with your intentions!

This New Moon is in almost an exact square to my Natal Virgo Sun and Sagittarius Moon. Oy vey!

The Meaning of Today's Stars

Photo: Charles Pfeil

I read the post "Planetary Confluence" by Mac's Stars on The Astrologer recently, and Mac wrote in part,"Now a very unusual pattern becomes apparent tomorrow, June 11, 2007, with the sun holding court as he connects strongly to every planet up there except Mercury."

In the last paragraph, he writes, "Truly I don’t have a clue of what it all means but in over 37 years of stargazing I have never seen this before or anything like it. I would love to hear any responses or ideas of what it means."

The reason I mention this is because I find it so refreshing to read an astrologer who admits he doesn't have a clue of the meaning! How often does that happen?!

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

Transformation is a blessing I am currently experiencing, and for which I am extremely grateful. My eyes have been opened to 'see' on a whole new level.

I see so much beauty I am moved to tears multiple times a day. I have tapped into a higher vibrating reality which is where I want to stay. Is this feeling/knowing/transformation facilitated by the ascension process underway?

Relationships and Astrology

Photo: Charles Pfeil

Having grown up in a seriously dysfunctional home, I wondered about relationships from an early age. I hadn't seen any positive models of happy relationships in my youth, and thus in my twenties, I became intrigued with astrology because synastry seemed to explain relationships better than anything else.

The definition of synastry from this site is: "The astrological technique of comparing natal horoscopes to gain insight into the strengths and weaknesses inherent in the relationship that exists between the individuals involved."

I began studying relationships with synastry. Then I graduated into studying relationships using the composite chart method. The definition of a composite chart from this site: Composite chart: "Two individual charts which are merged to form one. It shows the relationship between the individuals whose charts are combined."

Then a fellow astrologer introduced me to
Magi Astrology which took relationship analysis using astrology to a new level. I bought their software and began studying relationships using their information.

But it wasn't long before I discovered another way to study relationships, and this way used regular playing cards, so I purchased the book Love Cards by Robert Camp and learned about relationships using this method.

Now I have a few tools to weed the good from the bad when it comes to relationships, and believe me, I use my tools all the time. If you're in my life, you've been thoroughly checked-out!

7-7-7 Weddings?

Photo: Charles Pfeil

It's been all over the news--couples rushing to get their weddings planned for July 7, 2007! Apparently this is a popular day for marriages because of the fame of the lucky number SEVEN!

And on this day, July 7, 2007--all the seven's line up.

The most famous person getting married this day is the sexy Desperate Housewives television star, Eva Longoria, who will marry the famous basketball player, Tony Parker, in France.

Is this a great day to get married I wondered? What are the aspects doing on 7-7-7?

The aspect which would give me a major red flag is the conjunction of Venus and Saturn, two planets which don't really bode well for romance in my book as Venus can't express herself well when linked to stern Saturn.

On the other hand, there are two close trines: Venus trine Pluto and Sun trine Uranus which should make for some razmatazz wedding events!

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

I took the above photo of the recent Blue Moon, a magical night on Maui. Even though it's not the best photo in the world, I'm going to use it to illustrate my Sunday blessings and gratitude for the Moon. Moon gazing, especially on Full Moon nights, is one of my favorite things to do.

According to folklore, on the night of the Blue Moon, the magical energy is extra strong and enduring.

Because I've been so intrigued by our Earth satellite, the Moon, in all it's facets, I began this blog. There is so much to learn about the Moon (and about ourselves) through Moon lore, news, facts, magick, and astrology.

I've been blessed to honor the wisdom from the Moon!

This Sunday meme was started by Blue Panther, and the contributors can be found on the lower left sidebar.

Chart Rectification and Timing

Photo: Charles Pfeil

I've read that chart rectification is an varied as the astrologer rectifying a chart. For those that don't know what rectification is, here's my simple explanation:

If you don't know what time you were born (and a lot of people don't for one reason or another), an astrologer will ask you many questions about your life and then determine what time of the day you were born. When I had this experience with an astrologer, the questioning process lasted several hours. However, I've witnessed a famous Vedic astrologer doing a chart rectification for someone else, and it didn't take anymore than thirty minutes before the the birth time was announced.

Here's an excellent article about chart rectification.

When the astrologer who rectified my chart was finished, he knew how many sisters my current partner has and so forth. I was impressed!

However, since I'm the kind of person who likes to be absolutely 'sure' and to 'see' for myself, I've been following my transits and progressions since I had my chart rectification done several years ago. It's also interesting for me to observe and study my close friends and family with their transits and progressions.

All of the above was a preamble to the fact that I didn't win any lotteries or have any email (other than spam mail telling me I've won jillions of dollars!) notifying me of an unexpected windfall yesterday! No honors were bestowed upon me, and none of my blogs were signaled out for praise. Nothing unexpected happened, and I had zero surprises. (Read yesterday's post to understand what I write.)

Does this mean the astrologer didn't get my birth time right? Or does it mean that I misinterpreted the symbolism of the aspects? Or maybe the 'surprising' news is going to come when I least expect it? If nothing else, with Uranus sitting so very long on my Ascendant, I would think SOMETHING will happen in the outer world! Certainly a lot is transpiring in my INNER world.
