The Not-So-Big Surprise of Ty's Bust

One of my partner's favorite tv personalities is Ty Pennington, the host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover" show. Now it's Ty-- busted on May 7 in Los Angeles and charged with suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs-- who needs a PR makeover.

I posted about Paris Hilton's natal Leo Moon yesterday, and guess who also has a Leo Moon? Yup, you got it right--Ty! Leo Moons love to be in front of the cameras, and Ty did a great job of 'mugging' for the cameras as the host on Extreme Makeover.

Ty has already issued his requisite apology to the media, but let's delve into what hasn't been expressed by one of television's most upbeat, manic personalities.

Ty Pennington was born October 19, 1965 in Atlanta, Georgia. His Sun was in Libra and his Moon in Leo. Growing up in Marietta, Georiga, Ty was considered "an unruly child", and he was eventually diagnosed with ADHD. Link to this info is here. I wonder how many children with Leo Moon's are diagnosed with ADHD, because I know lots of folks with Leo Moons who have been diagnosed with this.

From late September of 2006 until July of 2007, Ty has been undergoing one of the most challenging transits there is: Saturn conjunct his natal Moon. I whine about Saturn on my Venus, but Saturn conjunct one's natal Moon is way rougher. Depression is the word most often used in regard to this aspect. Other possibilities are health problems, the responsibility for caring for aging parents or older people, and dwelling upon bad experiences from your past.

Neptune is also transiting opposite his Moon making it more likely that he might want to take the 'edge' off using alcohol and 'whatever'.

Even though Ty is considered one of the 'beautiful people' and was voted by People Magazine in 2002 as one of their Top 50 bachelors and with a huge fan following, Ty can get depressed just like anyone else when it's his turn. He has other positive aspects happening, so he will likely bounce back in July and become the photogenic 'mugger' we all can't stop watching!

"During that period, I went into a period of depression. A fear and anxiety and non-specific anxiety attacks, of where I actually didn't know - I lost my smile, like I had to force it."
