The Adventure Called Life

"Never forget that life can only be nobly inspired and rightly lived if you take
it bravely and gallantly, as a splendid adventure in which you are setting out
into an unknown country, to meet many a joy, to find many a comrade, to win and
lose many a battle." Annie Besant

Prayer

Photo: Flickr

"Prayer is a stepping aside; a letting go, a quiet time of listening and loving. It should not be confused with supplication of any kind, because it is a way of remembering your holiness. Why should holiness entreat, being fully entitled to everything Love has to offer? And it is Love you go in prayer. Prayer is an offering; a giving up of yourself to be at one with Love. There is nothing to ask because there is nothing left to want. That nothingness becomes the altar of God. It disappears in Him." - from The Song of Prayer: Prayer, Forgiveness, Healing (An Extension of the Principles of A Course in Miracles)

Happy Solstice

"The moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Happy New Moon

Photo: Flickr

Do you write down your intentions during the New Moon period? I have read that the best time for making your dreams come true is during the 24 hours following the New Moon.

Can We Make It?

Photo: terragalleria

I'd like to share an astrologer's assessment of 2007 with you because a. I like the way he writes. He's funny, astute, and smart b. I agree with a lot of it. The link is here. The astrologer is Michael Lutin who writes for Vanity Fair Magazine.

"The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And
the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but
live right in it, under its roof." Barbara Kingsolver

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

Whew...the Holy Daze sure do make one run their a$$ off! But I made it here to add my blessings and intentions to the Blog Your Blessings Sunday group! ESPECIALLY during the holidays, I am reminded of how lucky and blessed so many of us are, and that includes me! I have a family I love and who loves me...a beautiful home...friends...my needs are met...I have the opportunity to share and help others...barely do I think of a need and it has already manifested!

I want to share a story about manifesting which I read in a book by one of my favorite authors, Stuart Wilde. He wrote an hilarious story about bending down to pick up a penny in the street(a good habit of his and now mine since he influenced me) when he was wearing a tuxedo and got completely splattered with mud in the process. I read his book about money and manifesting maybe twenty years ago, but ever since I read his book, I always bend down to pick up money, even if it's only a penny. His thought form was that our subconscious doesn't distinguish between the sum of a penny or more valuable money. It's simply money being given to us, and thus if we train our subconscious to be grateful for any money that comes to us, we establish prosperity consciousness. This teaching of Stuart's felt real and true to me at the time, and that is why I have the habit of picking up any kind of money I find wherever I find it and however I'm dressed. This week, I found a dime, some pennies, and received lots of lovely gifts. I'm into receivership, and I enjoy receiving just like I enjoy giving. The trick is to find a balance with the receiving and giving energies.

I spent Tibetan New Year in Dharmasala, India, and we participated in a tradition which goes like this: for every amount of money you give, ten thousand (or it it a hundred thousand?)is supposed to return to you. In any event, there are opportune times to give (according to the Tibetan tradition) for increasing your prosperity.

Car Crash's and Astrology

Here is an interesting link: "Had a car crash? It's all in the stars, study says" from Yahoo News. If you're into that Sun-Sign astrology, maybe you'll buy it. I don't. However, it's worth a chuckle!

The Art of Writing

Art courtesy of Love Peace Happiness

"The writer perhaps more than any of his fellow artists, has access to the human subconscious. His words sink deep, shaping dreams, easing the pain of loneliness, banishing incantations and omens, keeping alive the memories of the race, providing intimations of immortality, nourishing great anticipations, sharpening the instinct for justice, and imparting respect for the fragility of life. These functions are essential for human evolution. Without them, civilization becomes brittle and breaks." - Norman Cousins

Here is an interesting link about education of light pollution from the International Dark-Sky Association. IMHO, our bodies need the dark of night...it is our home.

The Great River Is Flowing Strong

Photo: Flickr

"We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.

Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.

And there are things to be considered. Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in the right relation? Where is your water? Know your garden.

It is time to speak your truth: Create your community. Be good to each other.

And do not look outside yourself for the leader: This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold onto the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off into the river, keep our eyes open, and our head above the water.

See who is in there and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally. Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that you do now must be done in a sacred manner... and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for..."

Six In Sag and Storm To Boot

Photo: Flickr

With Mercury joining the dinner party and making it a perfect Six In Sagittarius, what else is going on in the Heavens? This is what:

Powerful Magnetic Storm Approaches the Earth

The largest electromagnetic energy emission in the last 30 years has been recorded on the Sun, the Shernberg State Astronomy Institute said on Thursday. This energy outburst may damage equipment of space satellites, the scientists say. Doctors warn that the emission is dangerous for those afflicted with cardiovascular illnesses as well as for healthy people.

Scientists at the Shernberg Astronomy Institute of the Moscow State University have reported record-high emissions of electromagnetic energy on the Sun, the biggest since the 1970s. Over the past few days, the volume of sun radiation, or X9, has exceeded the normal level 1,000-fold. The scientists call this phenomenon an anomaly and say that the Sun is now in a stage when sunspots, sources of high electromagnetic radiation, are unusual. For more, read here.

Yes....Why The Moon, Indeed!

Photo: Flickr

I like to post a little of this, a little of that on this Moon Blog, so this blog isn't strictly astrological or scientific. It's a mish-mosh of information about the Moon with a little astrology, quotes, interesting links & articles, and personal stuff thrown into the mix. If anyone would ever like to be a Guest Blogger, please let me know, and we'll see what we can work out. In any event, I found this link interesting. It's titled "Why the Moon?" from Astrobiology Magazine.

Blog Your Blessings Sunday

Photo: terragalleria

Many of my nightly dreams are prophetic, but often there is a twist. Such was the case today. Last night I dreamed my partner and I couldn't get to our home because there was a large flood, and so we were stuck in Kahului, another city and area of Maui. Today the stormy weather and heavy rains came, and many areas of Maui were experiencing flash floods. Just awhile ago, I received a call from my daughter, and she and her partner were unable to make it to their home because of the flooding. They have a warm place to retreat to at her partner's Mother's home, so I blessed knowing she is safe and sound.
